SleepIn for SleepOut

SleepOut is about stepping into our
neighbors’ “home” for a night
and ensuring that the night remains dedicated to those who are homeless.

What to expect: SleepOut has evolved over the years.  It started as a small, bare bones gathering in 2008 and grew into a well-attended event and program.  In recent years, it has added a SleepIn option and a virtual program.  What has remained the same is its mission of educating participants and changing the lives of those who are experiencing homelessness.

As a large weather front approaches Palm Beach County, The Lord’s Place has made the difficult decision to provide a modified in-person SleepOut event on Friday, April 1.
No outdoor activities, silent auction, food or sleeping out will be provided Friday night for the safety of our clients, staff, and participants.
We will still gather to honor our clients with a FREE, INDOOR program at United Methodist Church of the Palm Beaches in West Palm Beach
to showcase the life-changing programs and services of The Lord’s Place.  Face masks will be provided and strongly encouraged.
The virtual program will proceed as planned and can be viewed here.

Unpredictable weather is a disappointment but we can pivot, whereas many of our clients do not have a safe or reliable option.
May this year’s modified SleepOut serve as a reminder that our clients brave the outdoors in all the elements,
and it’s up to us to help change that for them with events like SleepOut.
Thank you for your support and understanding.
We hope to see you in-person or virtually on Friday, April 1 at SleepOut.

Please register to join us: Registering allows us to know how many people will be attending the event and also gives participants a vehicle to fundraise for this FREE event that is slated to raise $325,000.  The critical funds raised by individuals, teams, and sponsorship go directly to The Lord’s Place’s local mission, help sustain the nearly $14 million operating budget, and impact the lives of 1,800 men, women, and children served annually in their journey out of homelessness.  To learn more about The Lord’s Place, click here.

Why Should I Start a Team: We know that the best way to introduce people to our mission is through friends, and the best way to build friendships is through team activities.  A SleepOut team can elevate friendships and collaboration at companies, schools, houses of worship, clubs and neighborhoods, and among families.  Everyone is welcome to join. We are here to help guide you every step of the way.  Email today for more details!
