HELP ME ACHIEVE MY GOAL REGISTER TO PARTICIPATE COLLECTED $964 GOAL $250 ABOUT Cara Hansen No one should be without a home. This will be my family's 16th year attending SleepOut and supporting The Lord's Place in its effort to end homelessness in Palm Beach County. Although The Lord's Place has always held a special place in my heart for the work they are doing to help the most vulnerable individuals, I have had the privilege of seeing it up close over the last two years. As a consultant assisting TLP with its public relations to raise awareness of its mission and increase outreach, I have been blessed with the opportunity of developing relationships with both the staff and the clients. I see firsthand how TLP staff change lives each and every day. I get to witness them in action as they encourage children and teens on the Family Campus to reach for the stars and be the first in their family to attend college; bring food, clothing, bus passes or whatever else is needed to clients who are living on the street and waiting for housing to open up; advocate for legislation to increase the supply of affordable housing; provide training and the necessary skills to help clients find a job. In addition to seeing TLP staff in action, I see and hear about the heartache of life without a home and ability to pay for food, and I get to celebrate with clients in their successes as they graduate from TLP's programs and housing in preparation of taking off on their own. There is no other social impact agency with which I would rather be working. I invite you to join my team. Come to SleepOut on March 31st and learn more about how you can be a part of the solution to ending local homelessness. And if you can't join us in person, consider showing your support with a donation (every amount makes a difference). Let's work together to end homelessness in Palm Beach County!
